1940’s weekend at Severn Valley Railway

The weekend of the 24-25 June saw Arley Station reverting back to it’s heyday in the 1940’s. Whilst we had entered the war it was still early days and surely it would be over by Christmas? I mean, the last one had been the war to end all wars and that was still within living memory and we surely wouldn’t have another?

So we enjoy the summer sunshine and the marriage of a couple who have met a mere 6 months ago, which in the uncertainty of war is a lifetime…..honoured guests include the King, Churchill and Monty himself on this most secret and special of occasions.
